gateway laptop flickering screen
My 2 y.o. old gateway laptop’s screen is flickering. Time to replace?
A bit of background – back in Sept I had a situation where the machine would not fire up. I had a place in NYC look at it, and they said it was the motherboard.
I decided to have it replaced, which may not have been the smartest thing in hindsight. Once I got it back, the speakers had terrible static. I took it back to the same place, and they couldn’t fix it. I was concerned that the motherboard perhaps was causing more problems, but they said Gateway said the motherboard was fine. (I think they lied to me about talking to Gateway.)
Lately, my laptop screen has taken to flickering periodically. Today, it is going NUTS.
I’m a consultant (financial systems) and NEED my laptop for my job.
Should I throw in the towel and replace?
I did have the motherboard replaced back in Sept. I just worry that it wasn’t the only problem, or perhaps it was just the symptom of something much worse.
if they said its the motherboard it is definately time to replace. i had the same thing happen a year ago.
